Council Case Studies
The council case studies page highlights just some of the great events and programmes that local councils deliver under the banner of Tree Day.
Councils contribute to Tree Day in many ways, often supplying native plants to enable schools and community groups to have their own Tree Day site, hosting Tree Day community planting days and running innovative schemes and community education programmes.
Here are just a few examples from 2007:
- “Tree for a Weed” swap campaign for residents of Eurobodalla Shire Council
- Planting native species to offset emissions from fleet cars as part of Queanbeyan City Council's "Trees 4 Cars" project.
- A workshop on How to Maintain Your Native Garden with demonstrations on pruning native plants by Marrickville Council at their Tree Day site.

Tumut Council
Whether it's the thousands of acres of Radiata pine trees that surround the region, the massive red gums that line the Tumut River, the fruit trees that help feed the country or the beauty of the deciduous trees that decorate our towns, the Tumut area is certainly hooked on trees.
