Fifi and the Flowertots Schools Tree Day Competition
Planet Ark is pleased to announce the winner of the Fifi and the
Flowertots ‘Rock with the Tots' concert is Sacred Heart Primary School
in Westmead. Congratulations to the Kindergarten student whose creative
Fifi Colouring-in sheet won this tree-mendous prize!
IKEA 'Create a Mosaic Mural' Competition
Planet Ark and IKEA are pleased to announce the winners of the $1,000 IKEA Gift Card.
Moreton Bay College's grade five class has been awarded the major prize
in Queensland after students created a mosaic mural inspired by native
Australia. Highly commended prizes were awarded to Seven Hills State
School and Victoria Point State School.
Curl Curl North Public School's Year 6G class has won the major prize
in News South Wales for their artwork, titled ‘Abstract Gum Tree' which
encapsulates what the students have learnt from their studies about one
of Australia's most iconic native trees. Runners up prizes were awarded
to St. Maroun's College in Dulwich Hill and Holy Spirit Primary in
North Ryde.
Colac South West's Year 5 (room 9) class has been awarded the major
prize in Victoria after each student decorated an outline of a map of
Australia and pieced together their outlines to create one large tree
which was further decorated with photos and quotes from the students.
Brisbane Botanic Gardens Schools Tree Day Competition
Planet Ark and the Brisbane Botanic Gardens are pleased to announce the
winner of the ‘Lesson in the Garden' prize. Congratulations to the
students at Seven Hills State School who have won a free lesson at the
Brisbane Botanic Gardens.
California Tourism Site Coordinator Competition
Planet Ark and California Tourism are pleased to announce the winner of
the Site Coordinator's trip for two to California has been won by Grant
Good of South Australia. Grant has been awarded this prize for his
volunteer work with the Friends of Kyeema Conservation Park and
Reynella East Primary School.
Saving Threatened Ecosystems Award - Site Coordinator Category
Planet Ark and the Threatened Ecosystems Network are pleased to
announce the winner of the Threatened Ecosystems Site Coordinator
trophy and cash grant of $1,000 is Tony Hepworth of Blackbutt Bushcare
Group and Illawarra Landcare.
Saving Threatened Ecosystems Award - School Category
Planet Ark and the Threatened Ecosystems Network are pleased to
announce the winner and runners-up of the Saving Threatened Ecosystems
award - School Category. Congratulations to Kewdale Primary School who
has won the Threatened Ecosystems trophy, Eco Dome and Worm World, and
a $100 voucher to spend on plants and worms for their dome.
Congratulations to runners-up, Gymea Technology High School and
Armadale Education Support Centre, who will receive an Eco Dome and $50
voucher to spend on plants for their dome.
