Getting Involved in National Tree Day

Volunteers Planting TreesNational Tree Day gives all Australians an opportunity to get involved with their local environment at a community level. Whether you're an individual, school, community group, sports club, church, family, group of friends or a business of any size there is a way that you can participate by coordinating a site, volunteering to plant or offering your support in other ways.

The benefits of getting involved with National Tree Day extend well beyond the personal satisfaction of knowing that you're supporting a good cause. You'll be helping your local schools and community, promoting biodiversity, offsetting carbon emissions, beautifying natural spaces, and having a great time!

Coordinate a Tree Day Planting Site

Coordinating a site can be as simple as gathering a few friends to plant native plants in your back yard, planting trees and shrubs around your school or hosting a public site where members of the local community are invited to help.

Volunteer

Each Year thousands of tree planting sites are registered around Australia, so whether you live in the city or a country town, chances are there's a National Tree Day site in your local area looking for volunteers just like YOU!

Offer Support

If you can't coordinate your own site or you can't make it to an existing site to volunteer, there are still plenty of ways that you can offer your support to National Tree Day activities in your local area.

Other Activities

In addition to planting native trees and shrubs that will support resident wildlife and habitats, Tree Day activities can be extended to include a range of pursuits that will benefit the environment and foster a greater appreciation of natural habitats in your community.
