Corporate Support

Corporate - Community Partnerships

Support National Tree Day by supporting your local Tree Day site

If you are in business, then you and your staff are probably too busy to be out there every week regenerating bushland - now's your chance to make a difference! We are giving businesses the opportunity to support National Tree Day by supporting a local Tree Day site.

Why make a special arrangement for businesses?

Planet Ark is largely funded by corporate sponsorship. We work in partnership with businesses and organisations that want to help us in bringing about real environmental change. Much of our work is carried out at the local community level via partnerships with councils, community groups and retail outlets.

Businesses today understand the necessity of being, and being seen to be, good corporate citizens. This is an opportunity for you to contribute resources and knowledge, as well as dollars, to help build a healthier society.

For National Tree Day we aim to build solid partnerships with businesses who want to be involved for the long-term.

What we aim to do in corporate partnerships

National Tree Day is about planting native trees and plants. Our primary aim is to raise awareness about the importance of native species. By mobilising as many volunteers as possible we increase the number of trees that are planted and the level of knowledge in the community. In addition, our intention is to generate improved skills, closer community-business relationships and sponsorship.

While we may facilitate what happens with a particular site, we also look at the broader relationship between each company and Tree Day. Our job is to understand your company: its organisation, its direction, its issues. This means getting to know each other, finding our common interests and identifying areas where there is potential for synergy.

Strategies for successful partnerships

  • Match-making - Matching up each business with the most appropriate community group.
  • Single point of contact - Ensuring that each business has one contact at Planet Ark and one contact at the Tree Day site.
  • Value adding - Conceptualising and promoting new initiatives and projects that are of mutual interest. Looking for win-win opportunities.
  • Providing model press releases.
  • Providing help in understanding the complexities of the Tree Day organisation and environment which often includes encouraging collaborative problem solving with multiple partners.
  • Promoting agreements that help us increase the number of trees planted, the number of sites registered and the number of site coordinators around the country. Making sure that agreements provide a clear understanding of expectations, deliverables, risks & benefits.

We strive for relationships based on respect, trust, and open communication where business and environmental directions are shared.
