Help at a site
Volunteering is easy and everyone is welcome.
Use our Find a site search facility to locate your closest National Tree Day site, then simply show up on the day ready to get your hands dirty and plant some trees (note: Please RSVP to the Site Coordinator where indicated).
Here's what some previous National Tree Day volunteers had to say about their experience...
"It was lovely to see so many people out there, and my kids had a ball. It is great to think I can take them back there when they are older to show them how the trees have grown"
"Thanks for being ready to lend a hand and get growing for National Tree Day. Each year, thousands of tree planting sites are registered around Australia, so whether you live in the city or a country town, chances are there's a National Tree Day site in your local area looking for volunteers just like YOU!"
"It's great to see so many smiles on everyone's faces!"
What to bring
Each site will tell you what you need to bring and where to meet, but as a general rule wear covered shoes, take along a hat, sunscreen and water in a reusable bottle.
What will I be doing
National Tree Day can include a whole range of different activities including planting trees and native plants & bushes, caring for trees and plants by removing weeds, information sessions, bushwalks and more. Most of all it is lots of fun! Each site will detail what is happening at their National Tree Day site
"It gives a sense of satisfaction to be able to look back in future years and think I have helped the community....by planting that tree. The tree is a living reminder"
